I apologise for the messy handwriting - I tried to be as neat as possible whilst writing quickly so that I stuck within a 55 minute time limit in preparation for exams.

A really well crafted essay. Just remember it's 45 min timer so practise for 45 mins of writing and try get your topic sentences of analysis really short, punchy and concise. Spend the rest of th paragraph stating examples as evidence to back up that main point. I like that you included not just the masculinity of the gender of the boys and how that was portrayed but also the contrast of the mothers. Another point would have been to talk about how the black community was portrayed as having supportive, caring families, challenging some of the stereotypes of the time related to lower socio-economic areas.
Overall a great effort.
